The new processors also offer a higher performance shoot camera: SX280, up to 14 frames per second (fps) in HS burst mode (only for seven shots, though) and continuous shooting up to 3.8fps in Program Auto mode. It can also now catch MP4 movies in 1080p at 30fps or 60fps is the SX260 video to MOV format and at 24fps maxed out.
On Canon Auto Focus (AF) performance of the cameras, too, makes AF more than 50 percent faster than the SX260.
The other main features of the new hardware is Wi-Fi, which connected the built-in GPS receiver. The latter is for geotagging photos with location information, while the former, you can connect wirelessly to your iOS or Android device for the transmission and exchange or the backup on a computer.
